About a decade ago, job boards were the new kid in town as far as the hiring game goes. They advertised during the SuperBowl. They transformed the job seeking landscape so much so that some of the traditional ways of finding a job have disappeared from the minds and activities of most job seekers.

But ten years later, the job boards have lost their appeal. Too many job seekers don’t get any results from them. No responses. No interviews. No job offers. So, now they are turning to the newest kid in town, the social medias (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) to get hired. Don’t Forget The Feds in Your Overseas Job Search

While the list of overseas contracting companies has grown rapidly over the past few years, DynCorp, KBR, and Fluor seem to get the most interest by overseas job seekers. This is understandable: they have been awarded those big LOGCAP contracts and have a lot of jobs to fill.

Unfortunately (for the job seeker), there’s a lot of competition for jobs with these companies.

So, I always tell job seekers to diversify and seek employment in as many different organizations as possible. One of those organizations is the US Federal Government itself. Read more
